There are two questions that I never considered prior to taking off on our cross country adventure...


Does our dog get car sick?


Does lightning strike twice?

There is one thing you should know before heading out on a 3000 miles drive. You should know whether or not your dog gets car sick. This is especially true if your dog is a 150 lb great dane. Jersey, our male dane, is doing OK unless we travel for long distances (like cross country...who knew?)...then he starts to have issues and I will leave it at that. We spent a few days looking for canine anti-nausea pills....not an easy task in the middle of the country. We eventually found them and bought a lot of them just in case.

We spent some time at the Oklahoma City Memorial and that was quite an experience...a very moving tribute to an event that happened almost 15 years ago. Things had calmed down and were going smoothly.....that is when the other foot dropped.

We spent a lot of time driving from Oklahoma through Arkansas and into Tennessee. The next question that I never knew I would have to contemplate is when an RV breaks down and you get a replacement...what are the odds that it happens on the replacement RV. Well, in our case the odds are a 100% chance. I swear we are all going to buy Lotto tickets tomorrow.....we are now parked in a wrecking site in Memphis, TN waiting for morning to come to get another RV or get this one fixed. Let me tell you a little about our home for the night. We have planes flying low overhead, a train whistling on the tracks not more than 100 feet away and what appears to be a 24-hour chop shop operating across the street. The silver lining is that we had a little time cushion baked into tomorrow's schedule. We will still arrive in Virginia on time....we shall not be swayed. "That which does not kill you makes you stronger!"
